The startup The Smart Lollipop, a member of Catalonia.health, has opened an investment round Series A of 2.5 million euros in order to launch its smart candy that diagnoses diseases with saliva analysis.
Once the financing round is complete, the company plans to launch the TSL One device on the market in early 2026, aimed at hospitals and laboratories, which collects a saliva sample through a candy that filters impurities for between 3 and 5 minutes and prepares it for analysis in the laboratory. The aim of the device is to replace blood tests with a less invasive test that facilitates the collection of saliva samples, especially in the paediatric field, provided that the diagnosis can be carried out through this substance.
The investment round opened by The Smart Lollipop focuses on investment funds with a special interest in the field of health and with a minimum investment of 100.000 euros. Between undiluted capital and private capital, the company has already raised up to 1.6 million euros in previous financing rounds with the participation of Ship2B Ventures, also a member of Catalonia.health, Secways, Lavanda Ventures, Econosmistes BAN and BaGi (the Girona business angel network).
They currently have a manufacturer's license from the Spanish Medicines Agency and will soon receive the CE mark to market its first product line in Spain and the European Union.
