Industrias Plásticas Triana reinforces its sustainable packaging with ISCC Plus and UNE-EN 15343 certifications

Comunicació,

The plastic packaging and container manufacturing company Industrias Plásticas Triana, a member of Catalonia.health, has obtained ISCC Plus and UNE-EN 15343 certifications, two important milestones in its sustainability strategy. These recognitions reinforce the company's commitment to recycled materials with traceability and certified guarantees.

The certification endorses the incorporation of recycled materials through chemical recycling processes, as well as their complete traceability throughout the entire value chain. This internationally recognised system allows Industrias Plásticas Triana to offer packaging with recycled content that is equivalent in quality to virgin materials, even for food contact applications.

The use of the mass balance system makes it possible to verify what proportion of recycled material is allocated to products. This approach facilitates the transition to an advanced circular economy, capable of recovering complex plastic waste that cannot be mechanically recycled.

In addition to this commitment to chemical recycling, the company has obtained UNE-EN 15343 certification for packaging made from mechanically recycled material. The first products to be certified are the 300 ml and 400 ml r-PET bottles, made from 95% certified recycled plastics. This European standard guarantees both the traceability and verification of the recycled content in the products. In addition, it allows the percentage of recycled material to be exempt from the tax under Spanish Law 7/2022.

Both certifications allow Industrias Plásticas Triana to use recycled materials, whether chemically or mechanically, and to certify their use in its sustainable packaging offering. This responds to current market demands for improved sustainability through more circular materials.
