The Investment Study in the life sciences and health sector in Catalonia has been published every year since 2017 with the aim of collecting the main indicators and providing an analysis of business investment in the sector.
The study is an initiative of Catalonia.health and has the collaboration of EY, an international reference consultancy that allows it to be equipped with methodology, rigor and reliability. For a few years, the study was included in the BioRegió de Catalunya Report, promoted by Biocat.
Thanks to the effort of these years, the study has become a reference document on the investment of the ecosystem, putting it in value and making it more attractive to investors, companies and international talent.
The data with which the study is drawn up is obtained through a direct survey of companies and institutions that are members of Catalonia.health, as well as with international EY databases. In the preparation of the 2022 report, the perspective of investors has been incorporated, which provides a new and complementary view of the sector. The data from the Study allow us to analyze the comparison between the result of investment in startups in Catalonia, the trends observed at international level and the vision of the companies that have participated in the annual survey.
