Eurecat
Catalonia.health launches Infrastructure Connection, a new series of conferences promoted by the association's Internal Innovation Committee, which aims to connect companies in the health sector with the technological infrastructure capabilities available in Catalonia. In this first edition, the activity is being run together with Eurecat, Catalonia's leading technology centre, which will open the doors of its Cerdanyola headquarters for us to meet the people behind some of the technologies defining the next generation of medical devices, digital health solutions and assistive technologies. Together with them, we will hear about real success stories from Eurecat collaborators, all of them Catalonia.health members.
The event will offer a practical view of how technological innovation can accelerate the development of new products, improve care processes and generate competitive advantages for companies in the sector. In addition, we will have the opportunity to hear firsthand testimonials from companies, all of them Catalonia.health members, who have driven their initiatives and solutions with Eurecat and are now well-established success stories.
The visit will begin with a presentation of Eurecat's capabilities in health and medical devices, where technologies and application cases related to digital health, medical devices, artificial intelligence, advanced sensors, advanced manufacturing and care robotics will be shown, followed by a visit to three unique infrastructures:
Plastronics and Printed Electronics Pilot Plant, a pioneering facility in Europe where smart devices are developed by printing sensors, circuits and other electronic elements on flexible materials and plastic surfaces. Attendees will discover how the combination of printed electronics and plastronics enables advanced functionality to be integrated directly into the product, resulting in lighter, more compact, connected medical devices adapted to new monitoring and diagnostic needs.
Assistive Robotics Living Lab, a demonstration and validation environment where you will learn about robotic technologies designed to assist patients, the elderly and healthcare professionals. The visit will show how robotics and artificial intelligence are facilitating new solutions for rehabilitation, personalized assistance and improving people's autonomy.
Ultrasonic Molding (USM) technology, an innovative advanced manufacturing technology based on the fusion of plastic using ultrasound, which allows the production of high precision plastic components using minimal amounts of material and very reduced manufacturing cycles. During the visit, its possibilities for the manufacture of miniaturized components, microfluidic systems and new generations of high added value medical devices will be presented.
At the end of the day, interested companies will be able to hold B2B meetings with Eurecat experts to analyze specific challenges, explore possible applications of these technologies and assess future collaborations or R&D projects. It will also be possible to schedule individual meetings after the visit.
The visit will make it possible to learn about technologies that are already being applied in advanced health products and are available for transfer to industry, showing how they can become new products, services or competitive advantages. In addition, it will provide a unique opportunity to identify new ideas, collaboration opportunities and potential innovation avenues for companies in the healthcare ecosystem.
