Beyond specific activities, Catalonia.health offers specific training programmes for associated companies and institutions. The aim of these initiatives is to condense knowledge and skills into short training programmes to improve competitiveness within the sector. The programmes are designed ad hoc by Catalonia.health, either exclusively or in collaboration with external agents.
Catalonia.health promoted the IVD Accelerator Programme, with the support of ACCIÓ (Government of Catalonia), to help accelerate projects from start-ups and companies in the field of in vitro diagnostics (IVD).

Helsinki, June 2026 – Our Project Coordinator, Roser Alba, participated this week in the third study visit of the European project RISEMED4EU (Regional Innovation for Smart Ecosystems in Health and Medicine in the EU), held in Helsinki with representatives of the eight partner regions of the consortium: Limburg (Netherlands), Helsinki-Uusimaa (Finland), Saxony-Anhalt (Germany), Western Slovenia, North-East Romania, Emilia-Romagna (Italy), Bosnia and Herzegovina and Catalonia.

The biopharmaceutical company Oryzon Genomics, a member of Catalonia.health, has presented updated positive clinical data from two clinical trials with its selective LSD1 inhibitor, iadademstat, in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), at the 2026 Annual Congress of the European Association of Hematology (EHA), held on June 11.
Aimed at Catalonia.health member companies and start-ups that are part of the segment dedicated to the development of R&D products and services, the IVD Accelerator Programme ran for 4 months and was structured in three blocks focused on three key areas of knowledge and capabilities in in vitro diagnostic projects:

Catalonia.health led three editions of the BIOMED ScaleUP programme, in collaboration with Lead To Change and with the support of ACCIÓ, to support the growth of biomedical and health companies in Catalonia. The programme brought together CEOs and business development directors from a total of 20 participating companies across the first two editions, who highly valued the quality and practical usefulness of the content. The editions took place in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
In 2025, Catalonia.health launched the first edition of the PROGRES. Shared Value for the Health Industry programme, in collaboration with Cliclab and with the support of ACCIÓ, to guide sector business leaders in implementing sustainability and shared value strategies within their organisations. Aimed at functional area leaders and members of executive committees, the programme was structured around 8 participatory training sessions complemented by individual business strategy development work, with personalised mentoring throughout.
